
After a long hot summer day, the sand felt extremely warm against her skin…
She liked to watch the sunset, but today, as she sat there, she could see in that ugly evening sun nothing but a great inflamed wound in the sky. Cold pulse was running through her veins and her bitterness was at its extreme as she watched that monstrous globe get ready for its daily plunge.
But, in a matter of seconds, probably due to all the dense light emanating from this disk-like existence, her spirit was hit by a sudden awareness and understanding, and she saw her pride building up like two enormous towers in front of her.
She had fallen down into some fearful snare, but she will not let her last state be worse than her first.
It’s not her fault! She won’t apologize for being misunderstood. She will not bare another one of his bitter unfounded remarks. She won’t apologize for believing his words and feeling so safe in his arms. She had been enchanted by his deep eyes and tender words to the point of forgetting her own self, to the point of losing her awareness that THAT was NOT what she needed. She was silly enough to find his possessiveness almost sweet, and his temper somewhat flattering!
But no more!
As the sun sank deeper, her mind got sharper, her pride grew bigger, her self-esteem was reborn , and by the time the crimson of the sky faded into black, that ugly caterpillar that had been encaged in its cocoon for so long finally broke free, in the shape of an incredible butterfly that, without any second thoughts, spread its wings and flew away, into freedom…in the search of a new light...
